Artist in Residence

Bob Nugent

We are honored to welcome acclaimed painter Bob Nugent as Appellation Healdsburg’s inaugural Artist-in-Residence, September 30 – November 15, 2025.

A celebrated artist and Professor Emeritus at Sonoma State University, Nugent’s career spans more than five decades with exhibitions across the United States, Europe, and South America. His work—held in major collections including the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Oakland Museum of Art, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art—draws inspiration from his extensive time in Brazil and his lifelong study of nature, place, and tradition.

During his residency, Nugent will lead two Crafted at Appellation classes, guiding guests in Renaissance-style still life drawing. Following each session, he’ll host casual “office hours,” inviting participants to share a glass of wine and conversation about art, process, and his international journey.

Nugent’s paintings will be on display and available for acquisition throughout the month of November, giving guests a chance to experience and take home a piece of his artistry.

Bob’s artwork is represented locally in downtown Healdsburg at Erickson Fine Art Gallery.
