Artist-in-Residence

We are honored to welcome artist Vanessa Montenegro as Appellation Healdsburg's Artist-in-Residence from February 28 - March 30, 2026.

Vanessa Montenegro works across graphite, pastels, oils, and acrylics, adapting her style to suit each subject. Known for vibrant color, expressive lines, and an ability to capture energy, movement, light, and shadow, her work spans people, animals, nature, sports, and occasional social commentary—often with a touch of humor.

Inspired from an early age by a professional portrait artist in her family, Montenegro pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts, studying graphic art, video, animation, and figure drawing. Though she also earned a degree in finance and international business, her path ultimately led back to art. Blending creativity with entrepreneurship, she has founded a graphic design company and an art school, exhibited in galleries, received awards, and participated in public art projects.

Born in Peru and based in Tampa, Florida, Montenegro continues to paint and teach from her studio and art school, where she shares her passion for art and design.

Vanessa's artwork is represented locally in downtown Healdsburg at Rena Charles Gallery.
